Financial Aid Options

Students may elect to utilize an alternative private loan to purchase your new Macbook or Macbook Pro.  Here is how it works: you can either take out a private loan just for the cost of the computer or you can incorporate the cost of your computer to the amount you owe for the semester.  For more information, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 603-887-7404 or financialaid@chestercollege.edu
Questions

If you have any other questions, please contact Ken Mailloux, Director of Information Technology by phone at 603-887-7427, or by email: kenneth.mailloux@chestercollege.edu

Software
Software requirements vary depending on the student's major and interests. The College uses Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) as its word processing/office standard. The design and photo departments use Adobe CS4. (These are very expensive pieces of software and they are NOT required. Certain computers open to general use have this suite of software installed, so it is possible to do class projects/assignments when the computer labs are unavailable.) Microsoft Office, Adobe CS5 and several other software packages will be available through the Campus Store at an Academic Discount in August. Details will be published when they become available.

Virus Protection
An installed, updated virus protection program is required to use the Chester College of New England network. Computers without this protection will not be able to connect to the network/internet.

Internet Connections
Chester College of New England provides a broadband Internet Connection for all resident students. Students are responsible for providing a 14’ Cat-5 cable for this connection. Information Technology staff will be available to set up resident computers on the network. Wireless connectivity is available in the commuter lounge and library.

Repair and Maintenance
Repair and maintenance of student computers are the responsibility of the student.
