The application process at Chester College of New England is straightforward and reasonable. Students
applying for undergraduate admission are required to do the following:
Freshman Admission (Full and Part-time Study)
- Complete and submit the application form. Be sure
that all information requested is provided and that the form is properly signed.
- Provide official copies of transcripts from all secondary schools and colleges or universities attended.
- Submit two letters of recommendation. These should be from a guidance counselor, a teacher, or from an individual who can attest to the applicant’s personal strengths and academic and/or creative abilities.
- Submit, with the completed application form, the required personal statement. Additional writing samples may also be included.
- Submit, with the completed application form, the $35 application
fee (check or money order made payable to Chester College of New England. This fee is non-refundable).
- Schedule an interview with an Admissions Office representative.
The interview may take place in person or via telephone.
- Submit a portfolio. Guidelines can be found here.
Transfer Student Admission (Full and Part-time Study)
(Students who have completed fewer than 12 credits from an accredited college or university must apply as freshmen.
See Freshman Admission procedure, above. Students may not transfer more than 60 credit hours for the
Bachelor's degree program).
- Complete and submit the application form,
as described under Freshman Admission above.
- Provide official transcripts from all secondary schools,
colleges, or universities attended. At least one of these transcripts must indicate
graduation from an accredited secondary school.
- Submit two letters of recommendation. At least one of these letters must be from an
instructor at the college or university from which the student is transferring.
- Submit the personal statement described under Freshman Admission above.
- Submit the $35 application fee, as described under Freshman Admission above.
- Schedule an interview with
an Admissions Office representative, as described under Freshman Admission above.
- Submit a portfolio. Guidelines can be found here.
International Student Admission (Full-time Study Only)
- Complete and submit the application form, as described under Freshman Admission above.
- Provide official transcripts from all secondary schools, colleges, and universities attended. At least one of
the secondary school transcripts must indicate graduation. The transcripts must be officially translated and
evaluated by one of a number of professional organizations that provide such services to U.S.
colleges and universities. For a listing of these organizations, please contact the Chester College of New England

- Official TEOFL results, if the student's first language is not English. The Chester College of New England code is 3977.
- Submit two letters of reference, as described under Freshman Admission above.
- Submit the personal statement described under Freshman Admission above.
- Submit the $35 application fee (check or money order, in U.S. dollars made payable to
Chester College of New England. This fee is non-refundable).
- Official statement from the student's bank showing proof of ability to pay
for tuition and expenses while enrolled at Chester College of New England.
This statement must be in English and computed in terms of U.S. dollars.
- Submit a portfolio. Guidelines can be found here.
Home Schooled Students
- Complete and submit the application form, as described under Freshman Admission above.
Complete the General Education Diploma (GED) and provide an official copy.
- Provide non-parental letters of recommendation such as an employer, dance or
music instructor or any individual who can attest to the applicant's personal strengths and academic and/or creative abilities.
- Submit a personal statement, as described under Freshman Admission above.
- Submit the $35 application fee, as described under Freshman Admission above.
- Schedule an interview with an
Admissions Office representative. This interview may take place in person or via telephone.
- Submit a portfolio. Guidelines can be found here.
- In addition, some home-schooled students may be required to complete an essay under examination conditions.
